Fees

The Air Cadet Program is committed to keeping costs low for all participants. Fundraising activities, primarily tagging, support exciting optional and mandatory activities throughout the training year. Annual fees are collected to help cover important community-building and administrative aspects of the program.

Financial accommodation

No one will be denied entry into the cadet program for financial reasons. If you require financial accommodation or would like to discuss program fees, please do not hesitate to contact the Sponsoring Committee Chair or Commanding Officer. All inquiries will be held in the strictest confidence.

Annual fees

The Ontario Provincial Committee (OPC) of the Air Cadet League of Canada (the regulatory body for air cadet squadrons in Ontario) levies an annual fee of $125 for every registered cadet. This covers both administration and programming throughout the year. Fees are collected as part of the onsite registration process and may be paid either by e-transfer to finance@246aircadets.com, by cheque payable to 246 Canadian Progress Squadron Sponsoring Committee, or by cash.

Other expenses

Other expenses may come up throughout the training year. For example, a deposit of $20 is often collected to secure a spot for an activity. This practice is done to enhance cadet accountability. The deposit is returned to the cadet upon their arrival at the event.

Additionally, when March Break trips are offered, a supplementary cost is levied for participating cadets. This amount varies and depends on the fundraising accomplished that training year, as well as the location and duration of the trip.
