Our Team
Our squadron is led by a diverse team of both military and civilian experts who work to facilitate a safe, fun and engaging program while prioritizing cadets leading cadets. Mentorship is at the core of what we do, and our team brings a varied set of skills and experiences to the table.
Commanding Officer Captain Y. Haddi
Captain Yarden Haddi serves as the Commanding Officer of 246 Canadian Progress Squadron, Royal Canadian Air Cadets. Enrolled as a Cadet Instructors Cadre Officer in 2020, he has held key leadership roles including Training Officer, Administration Officer and coach of the Biathlon and Marksmanship teams.
CO Capt Haddi’s command philosophy emphasizes leading by example, fostering trust and maintaining a “no one left behind” approach. Under his leadership, the squadron aims to be recognized as one of the top units in Canada by promoting fitness and leadership development, and expanding flight training opportunities.

Capt H. Andrews, Training Officer
Training Officer Captain Holly Andrews enrolled as a Cadet Instructors Cadre (CIC) Officer and was attested in 2018 at 246 Canadian Progress Squadron. Her family holds significant military history amassed through WWII, Korea (1950–53) and Afghanistan (2001). Capt Andrews provides safety, supervision, organizational strategy and instruction to the squadron. She previously served as our Commanding Officer and Administration Officer. She works to advance the cadet movement through community development and education. Outside of the cadet program, Capt Andrews supports Student Life at the University of Toronto.
Lt P. MacNeil, Assistant Training Officer
Lieutenant Peter MacNeil serves as our Assistant Training Officer. He completed his cadet career in Calgary and has since worked in the Northwest and Atlantic Regions. Lt. MacNeil enjoys supporting the cadet program during the summer months through Cadet Training Centres (CTCs). He has staffed at various CTCs, including Blackdown, Connaught, Cold Lake and Penhold, and has worked on a range of courses. Lt. MacNeil earned his Bachelor's degree in Political Science from St. Francis Xavier University and currently works in the aviation sector.
2Lt Plourde, Administrative Officer
Second Lieutenant Izaac Plourde is our Administrative Officer, a Level Officer, Band Officer, and Effective Speaking and Debate Instructor. He is a former 246 Cadet and represented the squadron on numerous occasions in competitions and public speeches. 2Lt Plourde is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in French and History from York University and is looking forward to continuing his studies in Teachers’ College.
CI Dodd, Supply Officer
Matthew Dodd is our Supply Officer and Proficiently Level One Officer. He began his cadet career at 170 St. James RCACS in Winnipeg and completed his cadet career at 632 Phoenix RCACS in Ottawa. He has supported the Cadet program as a Civilian Volunteer at both 918 Griffon RCACS in Calgary and now with 246 Canadian Progress RCACS in Toronto. He completed his degrees in History at Carleton University and works in the technology sector.
CV G. Oliver-Burgess, Range Coach
CV K. Nawaz, Assistant Supply Officer & Assistant Band Officer
Adiba Nawaz is our Assistant Supply Officer and Assistant Band Officer. She has completed her cadet career in 631 Sentential RCACS in Scarborough, Ontario, and has attended previous CTCs as CSM and adult staff. Currently finishing her degree in pre-service firefighting at Senaca College, Adiba is looking forward to joining the reserves.
Squadron Sponsoring Committee
Working in collaboration with squadron staff, the Squadron Sponsoring Committee (SSC) helps to plan local fundraising and training events for squadron cadets. This team of volunteers acts as the local arm of the Air Cadet League of Canada to actively engage the parent, guardian and supporter community. Together, they provide the resources needed for exciting optional training opportunities.
