Fees

There are no mandatory fees to participate in the Air Cadet program and the program is committed to keeping costs low for all participants. Fundraising activities, primarily tagging, support exciting optional and mandatory activities throughout the training year.
No one will be denied entry into the cadet program for financial reasons.

Annual donation

The Ontario Provincial Committee (OPC) of the Air Cadet League of Canada (the regulatory body for Air Cadet squadrons in Ontario) levies an annual fee for every registered cadet to each squadron. This covers both administration and programming throughout the year.

Families can donate to the squadron to cover this cost for their cadet(s). The squadron is a registered charity and donations can be made as part of the onsite registration process and may be paid either by e-transfer to finance@246aircadets.com, by cheque payable to 246 Canadian Progress Squadron Sponsoring Committee, or by cash. You will receive a charitable donation receipt.

Other expenses

Other expenses may come up throughout the training year. For example, a deposit of $20 is often collected to secure a spot for an activity like gliding or powered flight. This practice is done to enhance cadet accountability. The deposit is returned to the cadet upon their arrival at the event.

Additionally, when March Break trips are offered, a supplementary cost is levied for participating cadets. This amount varies and depends on the fundraising accomplished that training year, as well as the location and duration of the trip. If cost is an issue, financial accommodations can be made. We don’t want to leave any cadets behind!
