Ground School
The 246 Ground School program helps prepare cadets who wish to apply for the Glider Pilot Scholarship or Power Pilot Scholarship. The program consists of weekly classes that cover material on theory of flight, meteorology, radio and air law, navigation and much more. To be selected for one of these scholarships there are several requirements—one of which is passing the Qualifying Exam. Ground School content is specifically tailored to support cadet achievement on that exam.
Cadets are required to sit a practice exam at the squadron during the last week of November and, if authorized, will move on to sit the Qualifying Exam in mid-January.
